Deepline - City Loses Weight

Street signs blur into each other
Your pulse keeps time against the door
We pass the places that once mattered
Neither of us asks what for
Red aircraft lights above the water
Your sleeves still cold from earlier rain
A distant radio breaks to static
Then gives the silence back again
Three floors down the lobby, probably be empty
Two glasses sweating by the sink
Your name appears and leaves my screen before
I give myself time to think
First light cuts across the overpass
The city slowly loses weight
